The aim of this Access Statement is to give an accurate description of the facilities at Beachside Holiday Park and the surrounding area
GENERAL
Beachside Holiday Park is situated on Brean sands, a six mile stretch of sand dunes and firm sand which is the second longest stretch of sand in Europe.
We are 4 miles from the small sea side town of Burnham on Sea. The promenade in Burnham on Sea is flat and car parks and roadside parking have disabled parking spaces. Information on Beachside can be found on this web site or within the Beachside brochure, available on request Beachside has a reasonable level access to reception with a 7.5 cm threshold and a door width of 78 cms. from which there is a 1:8 slope to the rest of the park which has level access to most caravans and where necessary ramps to raised areas.
The roads also act as pathways and are easily seen or tappable by the partially sighted. There is good mobile telephone reception in our area.
ROADS
Roads throughout Beachside are limited to 8mph, and we operate a one way system. Speed bumps are present but are lowered at the sides to allow wheelchairs and mobility aids easier access through the bumps. Slopp entering the park is 1:8 driving no effect.

Beachside has a rental fleet of 50 Holiday Homes.

THE GLEN
The Glen is an area of the park that is lower down than the rest of the park, no cars are permitted and child friendly. There is a 1:8 slope down to The Glen from one side or there is a separate entrance which has steps on the opposite side.
STAFF
Beachside Staff have attended the Welcome All course in accessibility awareness and have been given specific training by Beachside Holiday Park.
Beachside Staff are available from 9.00a.m. to 6.00p.m., to provide any support. Would Guests kindly inform Reception when a disabled person is present in their party. We may then discuss any special actions that may be necessary in an emergency and request contact numbers of relatives that may be communicated with. All information will be treated in confidence.
ASSISTANCE DOGS
We welcome all well behaved dogs and there is no charge for assistance dogs. All dogs must be kept on a lead whilst on the Holiday Park but may exercise freely on the beach at all times of the year.
